Swing Making Trip to Colorado

The Eric Mullen Family bought a new swing set!! The only drawback was that it came in three boxes with 735 pieces!! So good ol' Pops came to help and Brady, too. They started early Saturday morning and worked throughout the day. The women kept the kiddos entertained, brought food, and wiped the brows of the hard workers.

Then it was time for a break, so we all took off for the Cherry Creek Reservoir for a picnic and some swimming! Yay!! What fun! Chase looked especially fetching in his soggy diaper!

Sweet Ella Sue lovin' the waves and the sunshine!

The gang having fun as the sun goes down.

Cold Sammy snuggling with Grammy! Yummy!!

The next day we all went to church, and then Pops and Eric pulled "the ox out of the mire" and finished the swing set. Then all met for strawberry shortcake and to try out the new toy. A rousing success! Here are "the boys" rushing things a tad!

The Brady Mullens lazin' in the hammock! Looking fine!

The project is finished and all are having a great time! Grammy and Pops leave EARLY the next morning back to Arizona and commitments. What a great time! Thanks to Eric and Jenna for hosting a fun time, and especially to Jenna for the 4:30 ride to the airport!

Colorado, Rocky Mountain High

Here are some of my cute Mullen grandsons! How much fun I had with Chase swimming and reading books and singing songs. He has the most infectious laugh!!

Here I am with my beloved baby boys!! (Funny, they don't look like baby boys!) I got to spend some good time with Brady while Eric's family was in Disneyland. So fun!!

Eric and Jenna and Colin said that they had a terrific time in Disneyland. They rode on almost every ride and their favorites twice!! Colin even braved Space Mountain!!

What a cute horseman! Bye for now!

Visiting Jodi!

Jodi was working in Phoenix this week, so we met her downtown yesterday for dinner. How fun to visit and hug!!
Today was our first day of 100 degrees. Now is the time for all southern Arizonans to quit bragging about our weather and be a little embarrassed as to exactly why we have chosen to live here! The saguaros are in bloom, so that is a plus!!

Grillin'

Our new favorite thing is grilled veggies!! Yum!! I marinate lots of zucchini (Love you, Eric!), peppers, mushroom, asparagus, etc. and then set Dad loose on the grill. We've been lovin' it!
(Your Dad does indeed have a big rock on the grill. It's too pointless to explain, but suffice to say that we don't eat it.)

It's certainly getting warmer here. By next week they are promising we'll be up to 100!! Oh well, can't complain as it's been perfect for 8 months! It's time to get used to walking around with a "sheen" on you wherever you go.

Love ya'all!!

Girl's Getaway

We had an amazing Girls' Get-Away this year that was practically perfect--except that Tracy couldn't be here! Here are the most beautiful girls in the world just showin' their love for each other in the Arizona sunshine!!
One of the first orders of business was to initiate Rachel into the Girls' Get-Away Sisterhood! You can see her wearing her banner and her "Tiara of Too Much Information!"
We had to try out the new Thai restaurant in town, and it was yummy! Talking all night really does work up an appetite!! I think that the hit was the red curry.
Rachel gets the prize for diligence, for sure!! She would pull herself away from the fun every now and again and hit the books! WoW!! Such willpower! But a call the day after flying home confirmed her efforts---She passed a big test!!

Pedicures are a tradition...such girly stuff!

Spa Day! This is pampering at it's finest!

Someone announced a pregnancy during Girl's Getaway...can you guess who???

Trippin' to Colorado!! (Part One!)

I got to go on an adventure to Colorado, the Land of the Swinging Temperatures! My two "Happy Experiences" were going on this cookout with two of my favorite families, and reading to SIX of my darling grandchildren. Life is really pretty sweet sometimes!!
